Favorite Film Version

Honestly, my favorite film version was the Branagh 19th century version. After watching the beginning, I knew this would be the one that I would choose. The actors and actresses do a really great job at portrying their character's emotions. The clothing is perfect for illustrating the 19th century. I find it very important that the film starts just as the play does so the viewer can have a sense of what is actually happening.
The beginning of the film is very dark and dreary, setting the tone for the rest of the scene. The colors in the first scene are plain, but they have to fit the tone. Imagine watching the first scene of this film and instead of the characters wearing dark clothes, they are wearing bright neon green shirts. See what I mean. It just does not fit the tone. The music really adds suspense to the film. Without music to back up the film, most viewers would find it boring. The camera angles also play a great part in making a good film. Like when the ghost of the king (Hamlet Sr.) shows up, the camera angle immediatley changes so that the ghost is higher than everyone in the scene. This is showing that the characters on the ground are looking up at the ghost or that the angle is showing the ghost's power over them.
I really hope you liked my blog. Many of you would probably agree with me that this is the better version.
